Side effects of incivek are beginning to kick in for real. Although they are mild, there is definitely nothing psychosomatic about them! :)

Yes, I realize this is a bit monotonous, but these daily updates are the best I can do on weekdays. Informative posts on the aspects fo the disease and therapy itself will be weekend fare...

ReplyDeleteThis is all pretty nasty stuff. Protease inhibitors are what they use for treating HIV nowadays as well. It is, essentially, chemo-lite. I find it interesting that the medicines can actually cause liver damage themselves. Their job is not to "heal" the liver but only to get rid of the virus; other possible damage is collateral and it is hoped that the body will repair itself after the treatment is over.
At least I feel like a scientific experiment: not quite on the bleeding edge of science, but the blood here is barely dry...:)
